Review of The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) by Doug K — 26 Jan 2015
As quirky as ever, it unfortunately comes up marginally short in heart and most of the characters' developments and nuance. It instead focusses too much on their idiosyncratic nature. It seems a little too simplistic and lacks the maturity of writing that his later films have a firm grip on.
However, it's still too difficult not to enjoy something as originally assembled as any Wes Anderson film is.
