Review of The Roommate (2011) by Adam P — 11 Dec 2011
If you go into this movie with realistic expectations,(the millionth version of Single White Female) it is an entertaining movie. It progresses at a good pace and there are some suspenseful moments. The writing isn't very good, but it made me laugh out laugh.
One major critique is regarding the story in relation to the casting. Everyone looks way too old to be a freshmen in college! In some of the natural lighting (a car scene Meester &Kelly), they look closer to 30 than 18yr old.
This is a little annoying/ funny with lines like " But how are we going to get in the club?". I started laughing in the theater and said "Because you're 32yr old". On balance, it's worthy of Netflix rental, and I would buy it if I saw it on sale at Blockbuster for $3.
99.
