Review of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) by Anssi V — 10 Oct 2011

I get it, it's a cult film. I even realize why. It's so lopsidedly over the top that I'm sure many people love it just because they have no idea what is happening or why. But for me this wasn't a good experience.

Tim Curry is of course delightfully crazy in his role and his voice is made of awesome, but I just don't get this movie. And I'm pretty sure that I'm not even supposed to get it, but something within me just doesn't like this film.

I guess it's my shared sense of shame that is off the charts whenever someone decides to do... pretty much anything in this film. Though I must admit that the movie had some good jokes and the narrator (Charles Gray) was a delight to watch.

(And yes, The Time Warp kicks ass as a song.) But I just didn't enjoy this one in the end.
