Review of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) by Charles E — 29 Oct 2011
Um....where do I begin?
For starters, this film is the epitome of what's wrong with science fiction films at the time, not to mention our strong man-obsessed culture. However, it's a parody film, so I couldn't complain about that. After all, it did its job very well by amplifying everything so over the top that it becomes a complete farce.
Second, I think I've developed an attraction to Tim Curry. Excuse me while I pour salt into my eyes.
Third, this movie is made much better by a riffer in the audience who says what's on everybody's mind, from Brad's jerkass attitude to the absence of a phone in the castle (and why Dr. Furter keeps dragging our heroes and completely stripping them of their own free will) to the mere thought of a cemetery with advertising.
Fourth, the people who made this are geniuses.
