A dazzling story brilliantly crafted from the mastermind of Dave Steven's, this film is able to pull off a stunning tale despite the graphic novel diversity. The film introduces not just a pulp hero classic but entrances the viewer with a setting that was quite to the likes of life during the 40's. Set in a time when America was getting back on her feet, the film depicts the rise of media popularity as well as early mob organizations. Though the film may not be fully accurate.

In addition the film features a wonderful soundtrack composed by James Horner who leads the audience through emotions of fear, excitement, to a sense of awe as the rocketman shoots through the sky.

The movie does have cons considering the cheesy effects and obvious stunt doubles. There are some parts where I was dissapointed in. For example, a more realistic rocket propulsion would have been more suitable for the jetpack rather than things going off like the 4th of July.

Overall the film features a basic plot that depicts the hero despiratly trying to hide his identity but wants acceptance from the love of his life.

This is a movie I have been very passionate about. And while some may beg to differ, The Rocketeer is truly a film that has really sparked my imagination and has really developed a passion for the concept of flying through the air, fighting nazis, and battling on top of a zeppelin.

In all honesty, very rarely has a pulp hero made an impact as The infamous rocketman did.

Dave Stevens crafted a brilliant obscure hero with a heart of gold and the will to fight.
