Review of The Rocketeer (1991) by D M — 27 Jan 2015
In the 1940s, a stunt pilot finds a stolen prototype jet-pack developed by Howard Hughes. In pursuit of it are the FBI as well as the LA mob hired by a Hollywood actor (who is also a secret agent for the Axis powers).
This fun film never tries to be anything more than it is, an action-packed movie with a plausible story and many nods to the Saturday matinee serials (King of the Rocket Men, Buck Rogers, Dick Tracy, etc) popular at the time this is to have taken place.
Jennifer Connelly as the girlfriend is absolutely stunning.
