Review of The Rocketeer (1991) by Jacob K — 01 Jan 2012
No wonder it's a cult classic. The film has the fun vibe that reminds of "Stargate" in a way, mixed in with some classic Noire vibes and director Joe Johnston's more recent superhero flick "Captain America".
The film is a lot of fun, that's it's strongest point, and it was fun sort of making fun of some of it's aspects too (mainly the Frankenstein like goon). It was also nice to see Alan Arkin in a movie where he had hair, a first for me.
Just, don't really try to dissect it. Just sit back and enjoy.
