Review of The Robe (1953) by James C — 13 May 2012
Lots of scenery chewing in this first Cinemascope epic from Fox with Jay Robinson as Caligula being the worst offender. Best thing about the film is Alfred Newman's haunting and beautiful score which surprisingly wasn't even nominated for an Oscar.
