Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Chris M — 10 Jun 2007
Directed by Raoul Walsh, one of the greats of American cinema, The Roaring Twenties is set against the historical background of prohibition in the 1920s and the harsh reality of the desperation faced by soldiers returning from the first World War.
The film is serious on its exterior, but has plenty of room for fun and is quite often tongue-in-cheek.
