Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Adam L — 01 Apr 2008
Fantastic movie made even more valuable because of its historical accuracy. Of course it was made in 1939 and unfortunately, they got away with more canned movie BS in those days. So it can't get 5 stars.
(For example: a lawyer who doesn't know what an "armistice" is, and who's ridiculously naive while working for an obvious criminal organization; Gunfights where everybody shoots at the ground and people running down the street fall down in one shot anyway.
..) Stuff that's just silly to a 21st century eye. I can't believe they could get away with it back then, but then there was way less competition in the industry.
