Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Tom F — 13 Jul 2008
Thought this was excellent. Haven't seen any James Cagney films but always hear people rave about him. The film is suprisingly violent for its time, people are shot very casually and there's a couple of impressive gun fights considering this was done in the 30s.
I saw alot of films like Goodfellas and Casino in this. Bogart is particularly nasty in this. Great performances, don't be put off by the age!
