Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Lee J — 15 Aug 2008
Finally watched James Cagney and he had a fantastic screen presence! He even steals attention away from Bogart in this. Mediocre story line, but interesting directing (as seen from the eye of someone used to contemporary movies).
I especially enjoyed the news flash sections of it and their careful manufactured images.
