Review of The River Murders (2011) by Coralie R — 30 Mar 2012
This movie is not entirely unwatchable, but most of the performances are stilted and even Ray Liotta phones it in. The storyline of a detective trying to find a serial killer that is taking out the detective's ex girlfriends is shaky and highly unplausable with little for the actors to work with script-wise.
Christian Slater is the only stand out performance here, as he actually puts some effort into creating a believable character. A reworking of the script and some gutsier performances might have made this the next Se7en.
