Review of The Ring Two (2005) by Derek A — 08 Aug 2009
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter that Hideo Nakata is known for his Japanese horror films like the original "Ringu". It's pretty apparent that the man didn't take the intensity and (believe it or not) heart from the now classic 2002 remake "The Ring".
While Naomi Watts makes what she can of the script, other characters played by Spacek, Dorfman and Baker all seem insanely under-characterized. It was almost as if Nakata didn't ask for performances from the actors because he was too worried about the scares, which in the end, didn't pay off too well.
A bad movie.
