Review of The Ring Two (2005) by Stephen W — 09 Oct 2010
There's at least one thing that's common to every horror films : sequels are often disappointments. So not much to say here, the plot is irrealistic, and the boy, who was the weak point of the first film in my opinion, is too much omnipresent in this number two, and so the story gets boring and pretty difficult to understand.
Nevertheless, there are still some good scenes, that "she wants revenge" girl is still frightening (what a weird way to move actually !), but the fear isn't used as it should be, and a lot of good opportunities are totally wasted here.
For example, the places where we follow Rachel (Naomi Watts), which are shady, silent, and typical scarying ones, let us wait for something that never comes, that good shiver we got used to with that kind of storyless film.
A huge lack here, I do think.
