Unimpressive American version of a chilling Japanese horror about a cursed videotape that whoever watches receives a call that tells them they will die in seven days. This film simply became the symbol of the commercialisation of Japanese horror in Hollywood.
The best bits are literally lifted from the original work, but the film is hardly scary and rather formulaic.
