Great editing I msut say. Also the cinematography is excellent. Not to mention the acting. Ed Harris did a great job (he's been snubbed for an Oscar multiple times). I think one of the unsung actors is Scott Glenn he does a very good job in all the movies he's in, and he does a very very good job as Allan Shepard.
He and the rest of the cast perform the great script very nicely. If you havent seen this movie, you need to.
