Review of The Right Stuff (1983) by Bretten B — 29 Oct 2010
There has never been a film quite like "The Right Stuff". This 1983 Philip Kaufman masterpiece takes the audience through the jet age & into the space race with actors that rose to prominence.
Being an aviation guy myself, I loved this movie....but alot of my non-aviation fans say that not very many movies come close to touching what "The Right Stuff" has (which is certainly the right stuff).
From Chuck Yeager breaking the Sound Barrier, to Sputnik, to Alan Shepards first space flight, to Gordo Cooper becoming the Greatest Pilot anyone had ever saw.....The Right Stuff is a movie that has drama, comedy, action & history all wrapped into one.
This movie spans a time period of decades and stretches over 3 hours long....but its worth every minute and a movie that I feel everyone would love!
