Review of The Right Stuff (1983) by Grant S — 13 May 2011
Great biopic on the initial US space program, the Mercury program, and the pilots who were the first US astronaughts. Well written, well directed, the movie rolls along and doesn't seem long, despite its 193-minute length.
Great performances all round - Ed Harris (as John Glenn), Sam Shepard (as Chuck Yeager), Fred Ward (as Gus Grissom), Dennis Quaid (as Gordon Cooper), Scott Glenn (as Alan Shepard).
A must-see.
