Review of The Right Stuff (1983) by Clint D — 20 Apr 2014
One of the finest modern American epics ever made and the definition of a man's movie. Every performance is a dream piece of casting but it's the brooding Sam Shepard as one of America's premier badasses Chuck Yeager that smacks it out of the park.
The screenplay and editing do an amazing job of squeezing so much vital history into the running time. It's rare when you find a 3-hour plus movie that you want to go on longer once the credits roll but that's The Right Stuff.
