Review of The Rider (2018) by Larry S — 10 Aug 2018
Just a brilliant and mesmerizing fact based film shot with non-actors on a Lakota Sioux reservation in South Dakota, Brady Jandreau gives a most powerful lead performance here, but the rest of the cast is exceptional as well, giving the viewer astounding realism.
What makes this whole movie even more remarkable is that the writer and director is a young Chinese-born filmmaker Chloe Zhao. This is a film that is only for those who like very low-key and cerebral movies that can be incredibly dark at times, and it's definitely not for action flick only viewers.
