Review of The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958) by L J — 10 Aug 2007
"She's a real lady. She's got scent on.".
A fine sequel which carries on where the previous Curse Of Frankenstein left off. Cushing is his usual dependable self, while Francis Matthews lends able support as his assistant. Michael Gwynn is okay (if fairly unmemorable) as the fellow receiving the volts.
Lionel Jeffries and the GREAT Michael Ripper make a pretty good double-act early in the film as Burke & Hare types - a shame they're not in it more than they are. Richard Wordsworth plays the "Up Patient", a sneering lowlife who refuses to wash as he believes the dirt keeps him warm - great character!
Somewhat unremarkable, but perfectly adequate.
