The Reverent is the only live action movie I know of that has long shots of still scenery, of which is normally used to fill up time on hand crafted animated movies to show of there art work and to make it a feature-length movie, the director's' also like to use natural and man-made lighting.

What I have noticed is the very realistic digitally effect and the make-up of attack scenes and wounds, Leonardo DiCaprio acting was outstanding and very effective.

The book describes a lot about nature but the film shows you the same amount but from a camera.

In most movies you would see water droplets on the lens, but The Reverent goes one set further and uses snow, hail, water and grit to the lens, I also found the fight scenes brilliant due to going in and out of third and first Pearson. the behind the scenes crew did a grate job along with the director and actors.

The best thing about this movie is as a sort of western is that it is based in the early half, where as most westerns are based in the later half and shows the rivalry and sympathy toward the natives form a hand full of characters , in stead of being patronizing towards native Americans.
