Review of The Revenant (2015) by Zach S — 21 Jul 2016
While the scenery and landscape are absolutely breathtaking, I feel like the story was very slow- paced. the dialogue was very boring and at times there were awkward periods of silence even. Additionally, you'd think with an epic grizzly bear attack, a horse flying off a cliff, and all kinds of hand-to-hand combat and Wild Wild West style gun battles, you'd have an exciting story.
Nonetheless, such was not the case. This movie was a sleeper. Shout out to Tom Hardy though. I feel like he did a very good job and perhaps is deserving of a Best Supporting Actor nod.
