Review of The Revenant (2015) by Adam L — 28 Sep 2017

Intensely harsh, harrowing, stomach churning and gritty, this incredibly well directed and acted film is unquestionably worth watching. For me, Hardy's performance was exceptional, only mildly overshadowed by DiCaprio.

My only gripe is that the payoff at the end felt somewhat anticlimactic, given the journey to get there and felt as though it was all a little abrupt given how engrossed and invested we get into the main character(s).

Nonetheless, it doesn't detract from it being a visually stunning and engaging film.
