Review of The Revenant (2015) by Toby C — 20 Apr 2016

I understand why it won the Oscars for Best Director and Cinematography because it was an amazing visual and technical film but Best Actor for DiCaprio? I get that it was a very physically demanding and difficult shoot but performance wise it was just good, not great, and I think it's not that hard to act cold, hurt, scarred, etc.

in that environment they were shooting in. Also, I would have probably given it a 3.5 or more if they shortened it by cutting many of the useless dream sequences but I probably just need to watch it again, I may not have been in the right mood to really appreciate this movie.
