Review of The Return of the Pink Panther (1975) by Kevin R — 17 Nov 2015
Try to do something about your filthy monkey.
Inspector Clouseau and Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus do not get along. The Chief Inspector will do anything to get the inspector fired and off the force. The Chief Inspector assigns the inspector to a huge case, the Pink Panther jewelry heist. Can the bumbling Inspector Clouseau solve the case or will he prove the chief inspector correct...that's he's an incompetent buffoon?
"Are you blind?".
"Yes.".
Blake Edwards, director of The Pink Panther, The Party, The Revenge of the Pink Panther, The Son of the Pink Panther, Sunset, Blind Date, Skin Deep, and The Great Race, delivers The Return of the Pink Panther. The storyline for this is pretty average and just okay and the comedic content is hit or miss and dated. The acting is fun and the cast includes Peter Sellers, Christopher Plummer, Catherine Schell, Herbert Lom, and Eric Pohlmann.
"He knows that I am unique and therefore indispensable.".
I recently came across these pictures on HBOGO but they didn't have them all...so I DVR'd them off various cable channels. These are fairly fun in an Austin Powers kind of way without being elite, classics, or must sees. These are really only worth your time if you're a fan of the classics.
"I will make sure you become a bell-man.".
Grade: C+.
