Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Michael H — 13 Oct 2012
The Dead walk again in Return Of The Living Dead. IT IS NOT a Romero film, instead its a film by Dan O'Bannon. When two people mess around in a supply warehouse, a dangerous chemical leaks onto them. Not only that but the dead are reanimated and they are getting sick. After trying to burn the dead body, it makes acid rain and thousands of dead people come back to life from the acid rain. A gang gets in the middle of the dead's business and its up to them and others to kill the zombies. In this movie, we learn why the zombies eat the brains of people which is highly original. The movie also invented the running zombie. It would be years later before 28 days later resurrected the running zombie. The Return Of The Living Dead is a gleefully gorey mess with punk rock, zombies and nudity. A mix of things that will please you in this film. Watch it this halloween.
80/100 B.
