Hilarious, one of a kind, 80's punk rock zombie horror comedy, Return Of The Living Dead is huge amounts of fun, satirizing the genre before pretty much anyone else and in a really smart way. Plus it has this Strangelove-esc government control paranoia plot that comes into play, great funny characters like Frank and Freddy the doomed forman and protegee who accidentally unleash the whole zombie plague and "german walther" packing mortician Ernie who is a possible nazi in hiding, and brilliant gags ( Uneeda Medical Supply.

One of zombies picking up an ambulance radio after eating it's drivers brains and saying "Send more paramedics") and a remarkably bleak ending which somehow doesn't ruin the good time one bit but instead adds to the film's cheekily subversive punk attitude, such is the movie brilliant balancing of tone.

But the possible highlight of course is 80's scream queen icon Linnea Quigley's spectacular naked graveyard dance, a moment that I wore out my vhs rewinding over and over, im not ashamed to say.

A cult classic.
