When it came out in the mid-80's, it was a horror comedy of all those zombie movies. Seeing it now, it's like a time capsule of 80's pop culture. Clu Gulager wears a Members Only jacket. The punk rockets style.
The music. There's even gratuitous nudity. This is where the infamous "Brains!, Brains!" line most commonly disassociated with other zombie movies came from. Sorry, to sound like a nerd.
