Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Andrew G — 06 Feb 2010
It's a fun and entertaining Zombie film with a great premise and some very memorable scenes and music, but it doesn't quite hold up the the Romero Zombie films. The gore used is very fun to watch and isn't too strong, the story follows occasional Zombie clichés but does make an effort to notice this and explain why, and the entire aspect behind the rise of the Zombies is simple yet complex enough that it can last an hour and a half without dragging.
The only trouble is that this is no masterpiece, it doesn't have great acting and like I said doesn't hold up to the classic Romero films, though it is nice to see a Zombie film that doesn't take itself way too seriously.
