Review of The Return (2006) by Amir S — 01 Jan 2008
Sarah Michelle Gellar did an OK job for her supporting role in the scary flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. Then, she went on to becomes the leading role of an adaptation of Asian horror movie, The Grudge.
Amber Tamblyn took over her leading role on the sequel but still, Gellar made a short great performance on The Grudge 2. Anyway, The Return sees Gellar, now with the tittle as the Scream Queen, back on the leading role seat.
Honestly, she gave a great performance as a depressive woman on this movie. But unfortunately, Gellar's performance was the only good thing about The Return. The lousy script and its slow pace probably will be the two main reasons why people will absolutely fall asleep while watching this movie.
The writer(s) try to create a twist in a quarter end of the movie. But even that will doesn't help waking up the audiences. The Return is totally awful. And not to forget, not scary. At all!
