Review of The Resident (2011) by Anthony B — 29 Apr 2011
The Resident is the second feature released under the newly relaunched Hammer Horror banner, only receiving a limited theatrical release it did not reach a huge audience but that will hopefully be rectified upon its DVD release as itâ(TM)s actually a pretty decent little thriller.
Hammerâ(TM)s offering doesnâ(TM)t break any new ground with the plotline being one that has been done to death both on the big and small screen over the decades but even if this is a tired formula here it is played out perfectly with two high profile leads in Hillary Swank and the brilliantly psychotic Jeffrey Dean Morgan, they lend the movie some much needed credibility and offer up something a little different than the recent glut of teen slasher flicks.
