Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Joseph B — 25 Dec 2008
My memory is a bit blurry but if I remember correctly, this was the first movie I ever saw in theaters and for a 5 year old who had a thing for drawing, it took my breath away. The rousing score, the fantastic action, the big damn bird, everything in this movie just clicked for me.
I was jealous of Cody, I wanted to live in Australia (which at the time I thought was the southern part of the United States given Bernard's "train" comment). Unfortunately I would soon forget about this movie and chalk it up to childhood nostalgia, But many years later I chance upon it again and discover that it is still as magnificent as it was before.
