Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Scott A — 23 Aug 2013
Okay follow up to the original, but the whole thing is kind of bland. It's pretty much a paint the numbers sequel/Disney film.
And the Rescuers don't even seem to be a main part this time, as their guide seems to do most of the work for them.
The bad guy, voiced to greatness by the late George C. Scott, is decent, but not as crazy as the original lady.
The animation is vastly superior, and there is oddly no songs in this one.
The late John Candy voices the bird they fly to Australia on, and wow is he annoying in this. Less is more should have been the idea.
Also had a weak ending. What happened with the prison on animals?
