Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Jackson W — 23 Oct 2013
The Rescuers Down Under is a severely underrated Disney flick that deserves to be ranked with the studio's acclaimed works. It's just so different from other Disney films: It's action, it's fast pace, it's visuals (the scene with the eagle in the first 10 minutes is astounding), it's characters, it's setting in Australia, it's jokes, it's comedic timing, it's just spot on.
A lot of people don't like this movie probably because it's just not a musical or something that screams the Disney label, but that's no reason at all to see this as an inferior movie. It's practically the Blade Runner of the Disney canon that hopefully more people will recognize as a classic as time goes on.
I highly recommend it.
