Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Todd R — 24 Nov 2009
This film is not perfect: Cody is not a strong character, Bernard and Bianca are given the backseat for scenes with Wilbur (voiced charismatically by John Candy), Jake does not reach his characteristic potential.
Despite all of these minor faults, this is the extent of flawed storytelling. Although the film lacks the traditional song-and-dance numbers of older Disney films, this film sticks out as an exceptional story all on its own.
