Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Tony S — 26 Apr 2013
4 out of 5 stars???? Because this animated film is beautiful! Yes it's a sequel, but it's a better sequel. Watch the beginning, all the way till the eagle and the boy stop flying and land at her nest.
The moment her cuts the eagle loose, till then is perfection of cutting/editing and great scenery. All the color, the way the camera is used to get full effects of flying, falling, and excitement. This film doesn't get the praise it should.
Memorable characters as the bird, the australian mouse, and the Rescuers themselves, it also brings in a well developed villain. Beautiful colors, scenes, and camera usage, with funny moments, and and nice good feel film, The Rescuers Down Under is a rare film that surpasses the first installment.
A very well made and good film.
