Review of The Rescuers (1977) by Kevin H — 15 Apr 2009
The Rescuers is an average Disney animation film with some good voice performances and a decent story but not much else to hold it together. This film seems to be lacking that old Disney magic conjured up by films like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty or Pinnochio.
Still, as an adventure story it is adequate and kids should enjoy the capers of the two mice. Geraldine Page does an excellent job as the villain in this film, totally making me forget about her nice old lady role in "The Trip to Bountiful".
As far as recommendations go though, I'm on the fence.
