Review of The Rescuers (1977) by Paul D — 19 Apr 2016
It's movies like this that make me wonder why the 70s and 80s were considered Disney's "dark period". This, "Robin Hood", and "The Aristocats" were all quite entertaining. Of course, while the latter two may not have the magic of the 90s Disneys ("Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King"), this one has a lot going for it. It's also cool to have a Disney movie start in present-day (1977) New York City! (Most of them at the time took place in Paris, the Jungle, or the Forest, or...).
Highly recommended. 4/5 stars.
