This is one of my all time favourites, much like the original novel. Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson absolutely shine here. Hopkins...is fantastic as Mr Stevens who aspires to greatness through dignified behaviour. It's heart-warming and heart-breaking, it raises some poignant issues...
In this case, I am inclined to believ e the movie and the book compliment one another. For a full experience, I'd recommend both.
