Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Laimis Z — 11 Mar 2009
This is diamond in a rough. slow but subtle. story is a very sad one too. anthony hopkins and emma thompson are just amazing actors who play these two lonely souls who just can't say what they really feel.
english gentlemen of top class. drowning in morals, or simply a lost species of human kind? do they still have them in England I wonder. very fine film with great performances. it's a literary adaptation that takes place in the first half of the 20th century, so be prepared.
excellent use of english language, good manners, and just plain play field for hopkins. watch him act!
