Easily one of the greatest romance films ever made, and with the exceptional performances of Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. Perhaps it isn't a film for everybody; some may judge it as slow, or unimportant.
But it's a rich drama, mostly driven by symbols and small gestures, but emotionally complex and beautifully made.
