Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Yinka O — 13 Sep 2007
I know that it's a cliche to say but Hopkin's performance in this film is astounding. He deserved the Oscar since his very first scene. The highlight is when Emma finds out about his diary... his eyes are fantastic.
They say everything with no need of words. The movie has a very good script, excelent direction and the story develops well. It is the best teaching about how we waste the best of our lives for nothing!
