Review of The Relic (1997) by Tom R — 02 Sep 2012
Not nearly as good as I remember. Don't get me wrong, the suspense scenes are still as fantastic as I remembered. Really great, pulse-pounding stuff. However, the dialogue is really stilted and the plot is ridiculously similar to 'Jaws'.
Surprising, really, because I'm still a big fan of the books. But, the movie suffers from shifting away from the book's Michael Crichton-esque themes towards its Peter Benchley side.
