Review of The Ref (1994) by Mathieu P — 05 Jan 2009
Probably my favorite Christmas movie of all time. It essentially puts the bickering protagonists of American Beauty (with Kevin Spacey and a wife named Caroline!) into a more comedic and light-hearted construct while adding the endless vitriol of Denis Leary.
Comic hilarity ensues in almost every moment and the conclusion is predictable but rendered satisfying by the way everything unfolded up to that point.
