Review of The Red Violin (1998) by Jennifer L — 06 Jun 2009
Masterfully done story woven like a fine silk fabric that spans over 300 years as a beautiful violin with a tragic past makes the rounds through numerous countries, numerous hands, numerous decades. A lot to digest, long movie, but amazingly executed.
Samuel L. Jackson is a surprise amidst a diverse and multi-cultural, but relatively unknown cast. Definitely worth seeing and chewing on for awhile. Fabulous music fills the movie, of course, along with alot of tragedy.
I am surprised I have never heard more about this amazing movie.
