Review of The Recruit (2003) by Nick F — 09 Sep 2009
Much ado about nothing in this star vehicle for Colin Farrell with an unexciting plot that offers no real surprise when the ending rolls around. Pacino sleepwalks though this part, much as he did in Righteous Kill a few years later.
Farrell showcases little chemistry with anyone in the movie. Roger Donaldson doesn't really bring anything special to differentiate this thriller for any other spy-lite flick, not even adding any atmosphere or unique thrills to the movie.
. The tech angle is hardly impressive and is tagged on as an afterthought. A real waste of time.
