Review of The Reader (2008) by Kashan P — 03 Jun 2014
Many critics have transformed the incendiary elements of this film into cannon fodder for their own pathetic agendas - but then again, you would have to be able to read to understand the concept.
This film is less about the currency of shame and absolution than it is a window into Hanna's bewildering journey through a very private wilderness - and her without so much as the warmth of a simple map. Kate Winslet delivers an astounding performance.
