Review of The Reader (2008) by Kathleen P — 04 Oct 2010
Behind the rough exterior of Hanna Schmidt is a vulnerable and insecure individual, struggling with illiteracy. Kate Winslet gives an amazing performance as this flawed individual. Though she lacks moral knowledge, causing her to have an affair with a minor then become a war-crime criminal, I found it impossible to resent her, but instead I felt sorry and actually rooted for her.
Kate Winslet, once again, makes another tremendous film.
